Persona 3 and Persona 4 Characters Unite in Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth

-

In what may very well be an attempt by ATLUS to appeal to the group of Persona fans who desire nothing more than to see Minato and Narukami fight with or against each other in the same game, the developer announced Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth for the Nintendo 3DS – a surprising choice given that no other Persona game has been released on the Nintendo line of consoles (Unlike other Megami Tensei titles).

Featuring characters from both S.E.E.S. from Persona 3 and the Investigation Team from Persona 4, the above trailer starts by asking the question “Have you heard of the seven mysteries of Yasogami High? It is said that those who hear the clock tower bell ring die”. It is therefore assumed that the game will cover the mysteries surrounding Yasogami High School and possibly those present in other areas featured across both titles. The release is also set to feature two new characters – Rei and Zen, whose roles remain unknown at this time.

The jump across consoles has mean’t that the game makes use of some (At this moment) average looking chibified graphics and an RPG system that from first glance seems similar to the one’s present in both titles. As the title “Shadow of the Labyrinth” indicates, expect plenty of dungeon crawling.

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth is set for release in Japan on the 5th June 2014.
