Kickstarter Campaign Begins for Kano – A Computer That Anyone Can Make

The one issue with studying information technology in schools is that while you can learn everything there is to know about the interior of a computer system, you will never learn how to put one together – and in my case my class wasn’t even able to take the school computers apart except for one short half-hour long occasion in Grade 11.

But what if… there were a way of easily constructing your own computer without the risk of losing thousands of dollars of equipment and is so easy that even a primary schooler could do it? Enter the Kano, which the producers have described as being “Simple as Lego”. Kano recently had a $100,000 Kickstarter campaign launched and in the past few days have amassed almost 4x that original goal – and is simply a computer that you can make yourself in only a couple of minutes (Powered by Raspberry Pi) and gives you access to several of the capabilities of a normal computer – including the ability to learn code and create games.

Check out the Kickstarter page HERE for more information, and potentially donate some funds to make this awesome project a reality.
