Square Enix have released a brand new trailer for the grand finale in the main Final Fantasy XIII trilogy Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. Featuring narration by the games design director Yuji Abe, viewers are given a look at the wide, open spaces of the Wildlands that will be open and available to navigate when the game launches in February 2014.
The Wildlands contain remnants of the sprawling natural wilderness that once existed in Gran Pulse. Beasts run free here, and the people live a hardy life of self-sufficiency. Behind the lush and bountiful appearance of this region however, the spread of Chaos is unusually aggressive here.
The Wildlands has been designed to be an open and free area, also serving as the hub for many sidequests and undisclosed secrets.
