Since 2009, each year without fail the team at Codemasters (and sometimes Sumo Digital) have published a new multi-platform video game release based on the years Formula One racing season. With F1 2013 having now hit store shelves with the new Racenet service in tow, Codemasters have released a new launch trailer for the title which they hope will show off “the game’s latest step forward in visuals, which deliver the ultimate immersion in the 2013 season, alongside ground-breaking new classic content“.
The biggest feature of the game is set to be through the RaceNet service, Codemasters’ free online hub which is set to power community challenges – including a recent Time Trial event in Korea where players compete to set the best time on online leaderboards around the circuit in dry conditions in a Williams car. Each entrant will earn 1000XP which can go towards unlocking rewards, including in-game helmets.
