While from the start the team at Creative Intelligence Arts left the door open for a multiplatform release with Project Phoenix, up until now they were never willing to commit to anything other than a PC release. With the game having now raised over $750,000 in Kickstarter pledges, it has been confirmed that the Japanese indie RPG developed by some rather big names in the industry will also support the Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita platforms when launched in 2015. The company has not hinted at releases on any other platforms including the Wii U or Xbox One.

After launching the Project Phoenix Kickstarter, we were overwhelmed by the number of fans who wanted to experience the finished product on a game console. Given their enthusiasm, we wanted to make their wishes a reality. With the deal close to being finalized, we are very excited by the opportunity to reach out to the console games community by launching the game on PS4 and PS Vita. We are confident our team can deliver a fantastic console experience.
Although details are still forthcoming, this latest announcement will require that Kickstarter backers who want a PS4 or PS Vita version of the game change their pledge amounts and crowdfunding platform from Kickstarter to Paypal. Furthermore, this will merit an extension of the crowdfunding drive through Paypal. Per Project Phoenix’s policy, all pledges made through Paypal, even after the Kickstarter portion of the drive is over, will contribute to Project Phoenix’s stretch goals such as a fully explorable world and more content.
