With 17 days to go and only $28,270 pledged so far for their $130,000 Kickstarter campaign, Lexis Numérique will need to step up their game quite considerably if they hope to bring Taxi Journey to the market. One way they hope to acquire some additional interest is by the above trailer – highlighting the classic side-scroller elements with the development teams own twists. In particular, this video provides an example of how to use Gino and Zoe’s abilities to tackle obstacles they face.
Taxi Journey is an original puzzle / adventure game IP set in a universe that they claim combines “charm, humor and mystery”. It takes inspiration from well received titles such as Limbo and Machinarium and has been produced with the influence of films created by legendary film directors such as Tim Burton and Hayao Miyazaki.
If successful, Taxi Journey will be released on both the PC and Wii U platforms, with additional stretch goals that they don’t seem likely to hit unlocking ports over to the Mac OS’, Linux OS’, PS Vita, Playstation 3, Xbox360 and mobile platforms.
