Square Enix have today confirmed that they will be holding a round of beta tests for the Playstation 4 edition of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on the 22nd February 2014, the day that the console launches in Japan. Information on how this beta test will be run has yet to be confirmed, but I think it is safe to assume that it will at the very least be open to current Playstation 3 edition subscribers.
There was initially some query about how Square Enix would handle the transition between the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 editions, given that players were concerned they would have to re-purchase the title. It has been confirmed that players will not have to re-buy the game and will be simply able to transition at no additional cost, carrying over their character data. More information on how this will take place is also set to be confirmed in the comign weeks and months.
A review of the games Collector’s Edition is HERE while a full review of the game is to be available soon (I was caught in the digital download issues)
