The Playstation 3 made use of the XrossMediaBar user interface, which while slightly bare bones in comparison to the Xbox360 made it fairly easy for anyone to jump between titles. It was also adapted into a number of other Sony products such as the Playstation Portable and a range of televisions which still use it today. However as was made clear when they developed the LiveArea UI for the Playstation Vita, they now seem to want to try new things and the Playstation 4 comes equipped with the new “Playstation Dynamic Menu” UI which seems to build upon what was used in the upgraded Playstation Store for the PS3.
We have already had a considerable look at the UI through trailers and even all the way back to the consoles announcement, however brand new screenshots for the interface have been uncovered and have been included for your convenience below. The screenshots cover the grouped messaging system, game overview pages, video sharing, activity pages and mobile interfaces.
The Playstation 4 is set for release this holiday season around the world, and if official signage is to be believed, PAL regions will not be forced into waiting several more weeks or months for the console to be launched in comparison to their North American / Japanese counterparts.
