After making a quick jump over to the Playstation 2 in 2003/2004 for their third major title in the Shin Megami Tensei line of games (Being mindful that titles like Persona and Digital Devil Saga are Megami Tensei spin-off franchises), ATLUS have decided to return to its console company roots by making Shin Megami Tensei IV exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS. ATLUS USA have recently released a brand new trailer for the title which is set to hit international shores later this year, and focuses on the way to defend the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado…. The Samurai Way!
The role of the samurai is to protect the people of the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado from the demons. To do this will require excellence in combat, which is showcased in the latest trailer for Shin Megami Tensei IV. But bear in mind that it’s not just combat prowess that counts – it takes a sharp mind to deal with demons and get them to fight on your side.
While folks in PAL regions can expect at least some form of wait for NIS America or Ghostlight to (most likely) pick up the title as they both have in the past due to the 3DS console’s region lock, those in the US who pre-order the game from select retailers can get their hands on the games collectible box set which includes a 176-page starter strategy guide/artbook, soundtrack CD and collectible slipcase.
