While we have had small cross-over titles over the last couple of years, in this generation of gaming we haven’t really seen any major crossover titles, where more than one company pools many of their characters into one collaborative title. Some examples which do come to mind however include Compile Heart’s Cross Edge and Trinity Universe, the Mario & Sonic line of games and the appearance of characters in a fighting game.
Project X Zone sets to blow all the above titles out of the water and become one of the biggest collaboration titles of the current-gen, which developed by Banpresto and Monolith Soft brings a plethora of characters from Sega, Namco Bandai and Capcom titles into one game. With over 50 characters from more than 29 video game franchises between the three, this Nintendo 3DS exclusive title is set to deliver what looks to be some solid tactical RPG action…. even for the characters whom you would never have thought for a moment would appear in an RPG.
Namco Bandai have today confirmed that their first demo for the title codenamed “A Lethal Surprise” has been made available on the Nintendo eShop for free. This demo features the characters from Sakura Wars, Cyberbots, Space Channel 5 and Valkyria Chronicles – and takes place in the Imperial Theater stage sourced from Sakura Wars. This is the first demo, with the second one titled “Dark Hours” set for release on the 27th June 2013. You can pick up the demo by scanning in the above QR code or logging into the Nintendo eShop.
