While there have been many third-party releases and re-releases on the Wii U so far, one of the bigger announcements was by Nintendo and Capcom – in which Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate would no longer be a 3DS exclusive title but also present on the Wii U console.
Following the March 23rd release of the game, a software update will be released in April by Capcom in response to community feedback. The software update will add online cross-region functionality, allowing Australasian, European and North American gamers to play together online in up to four-player battles. Monster Hunters will also be able to play the game using just the Wii U GamePad without the need for a TV screen as the software update makes the title compatible with off-TV play. Capcom will be supporting this title for several months post-release.
