While I have my doubts we will be seeing this overseas, especially considering other classic Shin Megami Tensei games have been released in one way or another on current-gen consoles and never seen a release (Although on the other hand, Virtual Console releases might not have been profitable enough)… but this weeks Famitsu has unveiled that ATLUS that the classic Shin Megami Tensei game “Devil Summoner Soul Hackers” will be ported to the Nintendo 3DS in Japan with new features, full voice acting and improvements.
The game is slated for release at the end of August in Japan. While I have my doubts on an English localization, I personally believe it would be a great time for ATLUS USA to get into localizing the previous SMT releases they never dealt with giving their online branch recently acquired Megaten: Imagine (Which takes part in between SMT I and II)
I think the title doesn’t have “Shin Megami Tensei” on it…
Ah, thanks for picking that up. I see they dropped the title for this release…
I know some guys are working on a English patch for the original version, I haven’t heard any word on it lately but It’s the guys who made a patch for the psx Persona 2 Innocent Sins. I guess he is patching a few other games as well, here is a link to their site. http://gemini.aerdan.org.
