It was announced today by Square Enix (and Namco Bandai Partners in Australia) that the first set of purchasable downloadable content (Not including pre-order bonuses) entitled ‘Opponent: Lightning and Amodar’ was released to both the XBox Live Marketplace for the XBox360 gaming console and the Playstation Network (Sony Entertainment Network) for the Playstation 3. The XBox version will set you back 240 Microsoft Points while the Playstation version will set you back £1.59 / € 1.99 (or local equivalent price).
This downloadable content set unlocks a Coliseum Battle which pits you against Lieutenant Amodar, a member of Cocoon’s specialist military division known as the Guardian Corps, who joins in the battle with Lightning who was the heroine of Final Fantasy XIII and previously a member of the Guardian Corps. Upon defeating these two, you will be able to add them to your ranks and have them join Noel and Serah in their quest. More well known characters and monsters will be available for download soon.
The bow weapon for Serah titled “Azrael” which was a collaboration project between Square Enix and Microsoft will also be available for purchase on the XBox360 exclusively beginning today for 80 Microsoft Points.
