May The Force Be With You in Kinect Star Wars this April! 2While I am personally not a fan of the Star Wars series, having only seen one movie out of the lot of them and falling asleep during it (*Blush*), It is understandable  why so many people enjoy this series. All the way back at the XBox conference at E3 Expo 2011, Microsoft Games and LucasArts announced that they would be doing releasing a Kinect game based around the franchise cleverly titled – Kinect Star Wars, and going from the responses from a selection of my mates, seemed to have been very well received. Microsoft today announced that there is no coincidence that Chris Pratt had recently shown up on the web proudly wielding a lightsaber.. and that the game would be released on the 5th April 2012.

The game will be released in two editions, a standard edition that will set you back an RRP of $69.95 and a special XBox360 Limited Edition for a RRP of $549.00 which includes a Star Wars themed 320GB console and controller, as well as a Kinect and copy of the game with exclusive C-3PO unlockable for dance mode. The game will include five modes of play – Jedi Destiny: Dark Side Racing, Podracing, Rancor Rampage, Galactic Dance Off and Duels of Fate – of these, the newly announced inclusions have been detailed below:

New Experiences Within Jedi Destiny Mode including:

Space battles: As you travel the Galaxy to face an evil that threatens to undermine the fabric of the Republic, you’ll engage with forces of the Empire in intense space battles

Speeder Bikes and Landspeeders: Pilot iconic Speeder Bikes and Landspeeders on your epic journey

New duels: Battle opponents like Count Dooku and Darth Vader on your journey to become a Jedi

Along With:

New Duels of Fate mode, a battle-by-battle experience to sharpen your Jedi skills against the Dark Side.

New Galactic Dance Off mode loaded with Star Wars-themed pop tunes where those still honing their Jedi skills can take a break to battle Darth Vader on the dance floor or bust a move “Solo style.”
