The VG Resource is a website dedicated to delivering its readers in-game resources and other similar things – therefore their work sometimes involves looking to see what files are stored on the discs. Generally I am not really one to care about in-game resources as I will most probably never need to use them – however occasionally something will capture my interest – such as this interesting find by them. The team at that website have been busy looking at the contents of the Playstation 3 Blu-ray Disc of Catherine, and seem to have come up with several things of interest….. namely some unused images, a stage select screen with real people instead of Vincent/Katherine and a Character Select screen which is pictured above. The character select is one aspect that surprised me the most…. originally it caught my eye why the only characters you could use in multiplayer were Vincent and Katherine (+ two sheep) however this screenshot seems to indicate that there could have been other characters that got the full block-climbing experience.
Even more interesting however is a screenshot of the user interface sheet which included hints at a possible PC release that was either cancelled or could be going ahead – however I do think some people are reading into it too much….. if anything it could have just been some left over stuff from the testing phase / game development system that could have supported the PC system as well as console releases. Anyway, I highly doubt it will be coming to the PC incase anyone suddenly feels like holding off on the game for the “PC Release”.
