Square Enix Releases DRAWIN’ GROWIN’

-

Square Enix Releases DRAWIN’ GROWIN’ 1For the most part I generally do not cover any games posted on the iTunes App Store unless it is a major game – primarily because I own android phones and my only portable Apple product is my iPod Classic. However, Drawn’ Growin’, just released by Square Enix looks interesting enough. The basic premise of the game and story is as follows:

Turn a Barren Island into a Floral Paradise!
In DRAWIN’ GROWIN’, players draw lines on screen, leading nutrient-filled Aqua and Sun Drops to their waiting plants. Each of the plants presented in the game have different needs: some require plenty of sunlight, others are particularly thirsty, and a few unusual varieties prefer to make bugs their main diet! Strategic line placement, as well as consideration of the specific nutrients required by a given plant will both prove key in bringing lush, healthy greenery back to the island. As the game progresses, lightning, harmful pests, and a variety of other plant-withering threats begin to appear, adding new challenges and thrills. Players will face a total of 60 fun-filled stages over the course of their quest to restore plant life to the kingdom.

A Host of Items
DRAWIN’ GROWIN’ features a wide variety of useful items that will prove indispensable in progressing through the game. There are items that increase the number of lines the player can draw, others protect plants from lightning strikes and other disasters, and some are even capable of restoring wilted plants. Clever use of these tools can make even the most demanding challenges more manageable, adding a further fun and strategic element to the game. Square Enix will continue to release high-quality games that take full advantage of the iPhone and iPod touch’s individual characteristics.

I have some screenshots after the jump to go along with the description. This game was developed by Taito is is now available worldwide for the  iPhone 3GS /4,  iPod touch (3rd and 4th generations) and both iPad 1/2 consoles running iOS 4.2 or later. This game will cost $US 0.99 or whatever equivalent is set in your countries App Store.
