Broadway Musical The Prom Extends Season In Sydney

Date:

The Australian premiere season of the Broadway musical The Prom has been extended for a final week of performances at the Teatro at the Italian Forum. Located in Leichhardt, Sydney, the production is now scheduled to conclude its run on 26 April.

The musical follows the story of four Broadway performers who travel to a small town to intervene when a local high school student is barred from her prom. The student, Emma, wishes to attend the dance with her girlfriend, leading the town into a national controversy regarding identity and inclusion. Tickets for the additional performances, which run until the final show on Sunday 26 April, are currently available for purchase through the official venue website.

Caroline O’Connor leads the production as Dee Dee Allen. O’Connor’s previous international and local credits include appearances in Chicago, Anything Goes, 9 to 5 The Musical, West Side Story, and Anastasia. Joining her in the central roles of the students are Sophie Montague as Emma and Paige Fallu as Alyssa Greene, the student council president.

The supporting cast includes Brendan Monger as Barry Glickman, Bella McSporran as Angie Dickinson, and Brad Green as Sheldon Saperstein. Thern Reynolds takes on the role of Trent Oliver, while Erin Bruce appears as Mrs Greene and Scott Irwin performs as Mr Hawkins.
