The Big HOO-HAA!, Returns for Five-Night Season in Melbourne

Date:

The Big HOO-HAA!, pitched as Melbourne’s longest-running weekly improvisational comedy show, is set to continue its legacy with a five-show season at its new home, The Motley Bauhaus in Carlton, Melbourne, from now until 22 March every Saturday night. The show, is set to retain an unscripted format and integration of live music, promising an evening where the cast builds comedy on the spot using audience suggestions.

Originally established in Perth in 2002 by improv mentor Sam Longley, the production made its Melbourne debut in July 2010 and has since developed a strong reputation for offering an alternative to conventional comedy nights. The performance features two competing teams, The Hearts and The Bones, who use their quick wit and spontaneous humour to engage the audience throughout the evening.

The show’s alumni include notable Melbourne comedians such as Gillian Cosgriff, Luke McGregor, Clare Hooper, Lee Naimo from Axis of Awesome, and Josh Glanc. With a focus on delivering fast-paced punchlines and unexpected one-liners, The Big HOO-HAA! aims to continue being a highlight in Melbourne’s comedy scene.
