Step into the vibrant streets of New York City’s East Village, where dreams are born, friendships are tested, and the power of love prevails against all odds.
Running from now until at least June 2024, the 2024 Australian tour of Rent has officially commenced in Brisbane this week, where it will be performed at the QPAC Playhouse until 11 February, where it will subsequently enjoy limited seasons at the Arts Centre Melbourne State Theatre (February – March), Newcastle Civic Theatre (March), Perth’s His Majesty’s Theatre (May) and Canberra Theatre (June). Tickets for all seasons are now on-sale, with ticketing information for each venue available via the show’s official website.
This Australian tour is being produced by LPD Productions, as arguably their largest tour yet. The season is being spearheaded by director Shaun Rennie and musical director Andrew Worboys, with choreography by Luca Dinardo. With a heavy-hitting and iconic musical such as Rent, one would expect the cast to feature both diverse and talented individuals. The cast includes Noah Mullins as Mark, Jerrod Smith as Roger, Martha Berhane as Mimi, Calista Nelmes as Maureen, Thndo as Joanne, Nick Afoa as Collins, Carl De Villa as Angel and Tana Laga’aia as Benny.
