Gold Coast theatrical producer Matt Ward Entertainment has officially unveiled the cast list for their second major musical production this year, Billy Elliot the Musical, which follows on from their production of Beautiful: The Carole King Story earlier in 2023. The production will commence at The Star Gold Coast’s theatre from 6 July 2023, with 23 performances running until 13 August 2023 inclusive, with previews commencing from 1 July 2023.
The casting includes a sizable group of local children filling the roles of Billy (Diesel Batson, Harrison Smith, Ethan Dahl), Michael (Hayden Doidge, Cohen Nash, Lachlan King), Little Boy (Edward Hill, Hudson Harris), and Debbie (Layla Little, Rose Statham) in addition to a range of other child-oriented roles.
