In response to the recent COVID-19 situation, the producers of Come From Away Australia have confirmed their inaugural season at the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne will be concluding as of tonight. This is in response to recommendations made by the Federal Government of Australia, who have advised against gatherings of 500 or more people.
While this will undoubtedly be disappointing for those who have tickets for shows past tonight, who will be contacted from Tuesday 17 March about ticket refunds or exchanges, it is not all bad news. The producers have confirmed an encore season will perform in Melbourne from February 2021. Those who have been inconvenienced by this early closure will be given priority access to book tickets to this season.
The next stop for Come From Away in Australia will be Sydney, where it opens at the State Theatre from August. Ticket purchase information for this season can be located via the musical’s official website.
