When the team behind Aladdin the Musical’s Australian tour announced the show’s cast a couple of months back, there was one big mystery… just who would be voicing the Princess Jasmine. With just over 74 days remaining as of writing until the show starts in Sydney’s Capitol Theatre – that mystery has come to a close.
It has been confirmed that Broadway actress Arielle Jacobs will be taking on the role of Jasmine. While this might be her Aladdin debut, she has performed in a number of other shows including Into the Woods (The Baker’s Wife), Wicked (Nessarose) and In the Heights (Nina). She is also the sister of Adam Jacobs, who has also starred in Broadway shows including Les Miserables, The Lion King and Aladdin.
With the addition of Arielle Jacobs to the cast of Aladdin, the line-up is complete. She will be joining and Australian and International cast including Ainsley Melham (Aladdin), Michael James Scott (Genie), Adam Murphy (Jafar) and George Henare (Sultan) among others.
