For those who want a sophisticated story unfold before them through dance, Expressions Dance Company are set to return to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) Playhouse with When Time Stops. Featuring choreography by award-winning choreographer Natalie Weir, this show is set to be held from May 20th until May 28th 2016.

When Time Stops features Iain Grandage’s Helpmann Award winning score performed live on stage by Queensland’s chamber orchestra, Camerata of St John’s alongside EDC’s full company of contemporary dancers.

This haunting journey of life-changing moments shines a light on how we deal with moments in time; moments that determine who we are, who we become and what we hold dear. In her final moments a woman’s life flashes before her eyes, opening the floodgates on those achingly personal yet intensely dramatic life-defining events: loss, new love, tragedy and longing.

First performed in 2013, When Time Stops is one of EDC’s most celebrated and loved works and we are thrilled to bring a re-worked version back to the QPAC stage. We welcome new dancers to the work, including company members Cloudia Elder, Rebecca Hall and Richard Causer, who returns to EDC following four years spent dancing overseas, and guest dancer Xiao Zhiren from Guangdong Modern Dance Company

Alongside Michelle Barnett as the ‘Woman’, Benjamin Chapman, Elise May and guest dancer Thomas Gundry Greenfield who returns in his role as ‘The Ferryman’, this fresh combination of exceptional dancers will bring a new energy to this much-loved work. We are thrilled to once again work with the beautiful Camerata of St John’s who will perform Iain Grandage’s Helpmann award winning score on stage

Tickets for When Time Stops are now on sale via the QPAC website, with regular tickets priced between $59-69 depending on seating preference. There are also concession tickets available for $45 and Youth/Student tickets (<25 years old and students) even more affordable at $29.
