QPAC to Host Free Les Miserables Exhibition Beginning October 2015

-

Since March, the Tony Gould Gallery at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) has hosted a 30th Anniversary exhibition for the centre. Featuring free entry for all those who are interested, this exhibition featured a number of costumes, props, memorabilia and other items from some of the early  shows performed at the Centre and signature events which have made their mark. But ultimately this was not set to be a permanent feature, with the exhibition set to conclude on September 26 2016. You might be wondering what will be going in its place?

With the upcoming Queensland leg of Les Misérables set to begin on November 10th 2015, QPAC have decided to host an exhibition titled ‘Les Misérables From Page to Stage‘. This seeks to provide attendees with a “glimpse into the making and global success of this record-breaking musical”. It will be open at the Tony Gould Gallery from October 6th 2015.

Some highlights noted by QPAC include original Les Misérables posters from around the world, photographs from rehearsals and first performances in London as well as more recent performances and a collection of items from Producer Cameron Mackintosh’s own collection. Also present will be a selection of original costumes and other Les Misérables memorabilia.

Les Misérables From Page to Stage will be hosted at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre Tony Gould Gallery from October 6th 2015. Although I do not have an exact ending date, I assume it will be open to the public until Les Misérables concludes its Queensland run.
