As part of their Cabaret @ The Cremorne, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) are holding an Open Mic Night on Wednesday 17 June 2015. They have claimed that this event will be “an explosive evening of emerging and established cabaret performers strutting their stuff”.
Less than a week out from the event, QPAC have confirmed what local talent they have gotten in from the night, which includes stars of stage musicals, opera, orchestra and choir. This list includes Billy Bourchier (Pirates of Penzance, Spirit of Christmas), D-Arne Sleeman (Opera Queensland), Georgina Hopson (Pirates of Penzance, Real Women, Into The Woods), Greg Moore (Queensland Pops Orchestra), Janelle Colquhoun and Karen Lee Roberts (QPAC Choir).
The Open Mic Night is set to be hosted by Queenslander cabaret star Alison St Ledger. Audiences are asked to expect the unexpected and discover the undiscovered, as a procession of cabaret artists step up to the mic and try daring new acts.
