However as I didn’t live in Brisbane and ticket costs for an entire family to see a show were not cheap, I missed out on that opportunity.

The Queensland Performing Arts Centre have announced a new initiative for those 20 years or younger to get them more interested in theatre – and not have to break the budget to do so. Dubbed the “20to20” project, QPAC are inviting those 20 and under to see select live performances in Brisbane for just $20.00. This is being collaborated on with QPAC’s four home companies: Queensland Theatre Company, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Ballet, Opera Queensland in addition to their QPAC Presents programs in 2015.

The first programs to receive this treatment are selected performances of Everybody Loves Lucy, La Traviata, the Morning Masterworks Series and Sleeping Beauty – with more to be announced throughout 2015. There are only limited seats available for each performance, and they will be rigorously checking proof-of-age ID before handing anyone their tickets.
