Demonic Dragoon | Take That (In-Game) Snap Daily Photo

As mentioned in yesterdays post, my former Free Company “Heroes of the Twelve” in Final Fantasy XIV was big on presenting events aimed at the English-speaking community on the Kujata Japanese server. Halloween was arguably our biggest annual event as the FC’s estate was decked out for the occasion and many community favourites were presented with a spooky twist to them.

During our 2018 festivities I was recruited as the photographer for the costume contest – a staple at virtually all of our events. Given twenty seconds, each participant would need to walk down the stage and use a variety of emotes and non-target skills to best show off their personality. While simple and not of a winning design, I do really like how this photo came out. I particularly love how this look is not that hard to pull off, just using a single skill.

These photographs were taken in Final Fantasy XIV Online. Final Fantasy XIV is © 2010 – 2020 SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. All Rights Reserved. Please note that this was one of my earlier photos.

Take That (In-Game) Snap Daily Photo is an off-shoot of the Take That (In-Game) Snap article series, in which the first article focusing on Final Fantasy XIV was recently published. This looks at, celebrates and critiques how video game developers have implemented professional photography-like systems into their games. It will cover how the systems handle, just how accessible they are and, where applicable, how a modding community might be making these tools even better. With this Daily Photo spin-off series, I will be sharing individual photos from the games either covered or soon-to-be-covered in the series.
