If you want large luxury ships in Star Citizen, then you have the option of the Origin Jumpworks 890 Jump or its little brother the 600i. Although both have elements I would change if given the opportunity, they are both two of the most aesthetically pleasing options in Star Citizen to date. But if you are after a smaller vessel which sets out to deliver its own brand of “luxury”, then you may be drawn to the Roberts Space Industries (RSI) Constellation Phoenix.
Complementing the other three Constellation ship variants (Taurus, Andromeda and Aquila), the Constellation Phoenix converts what was previously the cargo hold into an intimate space to hold business meetings, grab a drink or perhaps take a nap as your crew takes you to your destination. Unlike the 600i or 890 Jump which is clearly built with luxury in mind, this is essentially a standard Constellation with a luxury module attached to it. Despite some smart concepts going into it, limitations such as the living quarters not having bathrooms, sparse lodgings and the requirement of going through a crew area to access the module restrict it from being an architecturally luxurious means of travel. That said, take a gander at the screenshots below and decide for yourself.
In development by Cloud Imperium Games and their studios across North America and Europe, Star Citizen is being helmed by Wing Commander (1990s) creator Chris Roberts. The game has currently been in a long-term alpha phase with no confirmed release date. Despite this, the studio has raised more than $250 million USD through on-going crowdfunding.
Take That (In-Game) Snap Daily Photo is an off-shoot of the upcoming Take That (In-Game) Snap article series. This looks at, celebrates and critiques how video game developers have implemented professional photography-like systems into their games. It will cover how the systems handle, just how accessible they are and, where applicable, how a modding community might be making these tools even better. With this Daily Photo spin-off series, I will be sharing individual photos from the games either covered or soon-to-be-covered in the series.
