Continuing their crowdfunding efforts as they edge closer to the $850 million USD raised mark from 5.8 million backers, Cloud Imperium Games has commenced pledge sales for the Roberts Space Industries Meteor (RSI Meteor) in Star Citizen, a new medium fighter space craft with a focus on acceleration and focused strikes.
Compared to many other combat-oriented, 1-crew member crafts which are typically dogfighters, the RSI Meteor has a small on-board habitation section with a bed and basic amenities.
Promoted features of the craft include:
Fast & Deadly
Soar into combat zones to intercept those unlucky enough to be in your sights. The Meteor was built for those quick, piercing attacks that turn the tide of battle.
Target. Kill. Escape.
The Meteor specializes in powerful burst attacks that leave enemy ships reeling. Cut a devastating swath through battle with bespoke ballistic cannons, precision laser repeaters, and heavy-hitting missiles. You’ll rarely need a second pass.
On Board Quarters
As RSI’s only medium fighter with lifestyle utility, the Meteor lets you stay the course without incumbent stops. The stylish, practical interior adds to the appeal of this deadly ship and exceeds the standard of existing fighters.
Standalone, the RSI Meteor is available for $286.00 USD in Australia (which factors in 10% GST), with the warbond variant (not permitting the use of any store credit) a little bit cheaper at $264.00 USD with a bonus paint. For more information on the ship, visit the official Star Citizen website.
In development by Cloud Imperium Games and their studios across North America and Europe, Star Citizen is being helmed by Wing Commander (1990s) creator Chris Roberts. The game has currently been in a long-term alpha phase with no confirmed release date. Despite this, the studio has raised more than 800 million USD through on-going crowdfunding. Please keep in mind should you decide to purchase towards Star Citizen, that this is an incomplete project and that you are pledging towards an extended crowdfunding campaign with no 100% guarantee of a finished product.
