Back in 2012, the team at Fruitbat Factory released their English localized edition of Yakiniku Banzai’s strategy RPG War of the Human Tanks. It proved to be a competent game, with the “human tank” element to be a unique twist that made both the storyline and gameplay distinct and enjoyable. Fast forward to now, and the publisher has decided the market is there for its sequel: War of the Human Tanks – ALTeR, to be made available.

This sequel can now be purchased via Steam at a price of $12.99 USD, with a 10% discount being run during launch week. A “Royal Edition” containing the ‘Sound of the Human Tanks’ 90 track OST can also be purchased for $19.99 ($17.99 through launch week discount). It is also possible to purchase through the official Fruitbat Factory online store (Which includes a free Steam Key), at a price of $16.70 AUD (Launch week = $15.03).

Serving as the second instalment in the “War of the Human Tanks” franchise, ALTeR expands the storyline by placing you in control of the Royal Army – antagonists of War of the Human Tanks. Following the events of the first War of the Human Tanks, the land of Japon is in chaos, with the embers of the war between the Kingdom of Japon and the Empire of Japon still burning bright, as new factions emerge onto the battlefield. Assume control of Alter Matsuyukishiro and lead the Matsuyukishiro Company of the Royal Army on a mission to eliminate a traitor to the Kingdom.

But not all is as it seems in this war.
When the guns fall silent, is tragedy all that awaits?

War of the Human Tanks – ALTeR boasts 250 Human Tanks which you can battle, develop, build and recruit; offers 50 modules to develop and customize your army with and offers approximately 100 missions to complete during the game.

The game also includes three DLC packs created by Yakiniku Banzai for the original Japanese release at no extra charge. Titled ‘Blue’, ‘Black’ and ‘White’, these will see you delve deep into the Great Cavern of Mt. Fuji and face increasingly challenging foes in 90 extra stages.
