Publisher Crossed Hearts has announced the establishment of a new publishing imprint titled GLAM BEAT!. This specific division will focus exclusively on licensing and releasing girls’ love (yuri) works for English-speaking audiences globally. The company has confirmed that titles under this label will be made available in both print and digital formats.
According to Crossed Hearts, the decision to create a standalone imprint stems from a desire to provide dedicated infrastructure for the genre. Crossed Hearts noted that while yuri covers a wide variety of themes, English releases have historically been dispersed across general romance lines or released sporadically. GLAM BEAT! aims to consolidate these releases into a cohesive catalogue to assist readers in discovering and collecting new series.
The imprint intends to cover the full spectrum of the genre rather than limiting acquisitions to a specific tone. The planned scope includes coming-of-age stories, adult and mature relationships, historical and fantasy settings, as well as psychological dramas. Commenting on the vision for the new label, Crossed Hearts provided a statement highlighting their commitment to romantic storytelling within this demographic:
GLAM BEAT! focuses on women-driven narratives that are intimate, bold, and unapologetically romantic, celebrating girls’ love in all its intensity and emotional complexity
Licensing discussions are currently in progress with various rights holders, magazines, and publishers. The company also noted that they are actively reviewing reader recommendations to inform future acquisitions for the label.
