MyAnimeList and Honeyfeed have launched the MyAnimeList x Honeyfeed Writing Contest 2025 – NOVELOUS Worlds, a competition aimed at highlighting emerging web novel authors. This collaboration provides writers with the opportunity to have their stories featured on NOVELOUS, a light novel reading app introduced in January by Japanese publisher Shogakukan.
The contest invites participants to create narratives inspired by one of two prompts:
- “Love Transcends Boundaries” – A theme exploring love’s ability to overcome cultural divides and challenges.
- “The End is Now” – A scenario where humanity faces only one year before an impending catastrophe, challenging writers to depict how people respond to such a crisis.
Submissions will be hosted on the Honeyfeed platform from 11 February to 7 May 2025. Following this period, a panel of judges will select finalists, after which fans will vote for their favourite entries on NOVELOUS between 23 June and 24 July 2025. The winning stories will be announced on 4 August 2025.
The contest offers three monetary prizes, each valued at $3,000 USD, awarded to the most voted entries for each theme and a Judges’ Choice selection.
