RPG Maker Festival 2025 Continues with Discounts, Free DLC, and Major Updates

Gotcha Gotcha Games has announced the second phase of RPG Maker Festival 2025, bringing further discounts, free downloadable content, and a significant update to RPG Maker MZ. Coinciding with Maker Day (15 February), the festival seeks to celebrate the creativity in game development with a variety of events, offers, and improvements to the RPG Maker software.

Discounts and Offers

Running until 17 February 2025 at 7pm PDT, the second phase of RPG Maker Festival 2025 features discounts on RPG Maker software, including:

  • RPG Maker MZ – 55% off when using the discount code “SISTERPRODUCT10” in the RPG Maker Official Store.
  • Pixel Game Maker MV – Up to 84% off with the same discount code.

These discounts apply exclusively to the RPG Maker Official Store and require manual entry of the discount code at checkout.

RPG Maker MZ 1.9.0 Update

As part of the festival, RPG Maker MZ will receive a major update (Version 1.9.0) on 17 February 2025. This update brings a range of enhancements designed to improve user experience and expand creative possibilities, including:

Expanded Character Generator Assets – New outfit options for fantasy and modern settings, including daily wear, police officer, and doctor uniforms. The generator will also support different eye colors depending on the direction faced, adding more customization options for character design.

Increased Picture Limit and Other Optimizations – The picture limit will be raised to 500, allowing for more visual elements in projects. Additionally, enemy placement restrictions will be loosened, and exporting larger maps as images will now be supported.

Advanced JSON and Plugin Improvements – JSON file exports will be formatted for better readability, making it easier to manage projects with version control systems like Git. Plugin annotations have also been improved, allowing for more detailed customization of game mechanics through map-specific dialogues.
