HIDIVE has confirmed that the new high school comedy Bad Girl will join its Summer 2025 simulcast schedule, streaming exclusively on the platform in its licensed territories from 5 July 2025. The announcement comes ahead of a special world premiere of the anime’s first two episodes, which will screen at Anime Expo 2025 on 4 July in Los Angeles.
Based on the manga by Nikumaru and originally published in Manga Time Kiara Carat, Bad Girl follows Yu Yutani, a first-year high school student whose intimidating appearance – complete with piercings and striking two-tone hair – has earned her a reputation as a delinquent. In truth, Yu is well-behaved and kind-hearted. Her decision to adopt a rebellious persona stems from her infatuation with Atori Mizutori, the school’s admired student council disciplinarian, whom Yu desperately wants to impress.
The anime adaptation is produced by Bridge and directed by Jōji Furuta, with series composition by Shōji Yonemura and character designs by Yuki Morimoto. The voice cast includes Azusa Tachibana as Yu Yutani, Niina Hanamiya as Atori Mizutori, Misato Matsuoka as Suzuka Suzukaze, and Miharu Hanai as Rura Ruriha.
Bad Girl’s world premiere screening will take place at Anime Expo 2025 on Friday 4 July from 3:15 to 4:05 pm (Pacific Time) in Room 511ABC on Level 2 of the Los Angeles Convention Center.
