In addition to their work with creator Vivienne Medrano on the spin-off musical animated series Hazbin Hotel, Amazon Prime Video has announced the acquisition of the popular animated web series Helluva Boss. Confirmed at LVL UP Expo, the series will continue with its third and fourth seasons. In addition to the acquisition, executive producer Vivienne Medrano has signed a first-look deal with Prime Video, solidifying a broader future for her creative work.
The announcement was made through a special animated short featuring characters from both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, officially confirming that the two series share the same “Hellaverse” universe for the first time, and that we may see more crossovers (hopefully nothing too overwhelming, as they work so well as separate narratives) in the future.
As part of a unique agreement, the first two seasons of Helluva Boss will debut on Prime Video in the fall while remaining available on YouTube. Future seasons will have an exclusive initial release window on Prime Video before wider availability. The series will be accessible on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Helluva Boss follows Blitzo, an imp who leads I.M.P. (Immediate Murder Professionals), a small assassination company operating through the use of a magical grimoire and a complicated relationship with the demon prince Stolas. Alongside his crew — Moxxie, Millie, and Loona — Blitzo juggles the chaotic demands of work and personal life, resulting in darkly comedic and often absurd adventures.
Vivienne Medrano and Tom Murray serve as executive producers for the series. The voice cast includes Brandon Rogers (Class Acts), Richard Horvitz (Invader Zim), Vivian Williams (Grey’s Anatomy), Erica Lindbeck (ThunderCats Roar), and Bryce Pinkham (Mercy Street). Additional voice talent features Alex Brightman (Hazbin Hotel), James Monroe Iglehart (Superkitties), Cristina Vee (Sailor Moon), Georgie Leahy (Normal British Series), Rochelle Diamante, and Morgana Ignis (Class Acts).
