As Pokémon Day 2025 approaches on 27 February, The Pokémon Company International has unveiled a range of activities and events for fans worldwide. Pokémon Day marks the anniversary of the original Japanese release of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, and is set to feature a range of in-person and online events.
One of the key highlights of this year’s celebrations is a Pokémon Presents video presentation, scheduled for 2 p.m. GMT on 27 February 2025. The presentation will be streamed on the official Pokémon YouTube and Twitch channels, providing updates and announcements related to the franchise. Could we perhaps see a teaser for the next generation of games post-Scarlet and Violet?
Beyond the video presentation, fans will have multiple ways to engage with Pokémon-themed experiences and products. This year, the spotlight is on Eevee and its Evolutions, with new merchandise, themed events, and community activities. Some of these include:
Year of Eevee at Pokémon Center
Pokémon Center, the official online store for Pokémon merchandise, will highlight Eevee with special product launches throughout 2025. This includes the Evolving Personalities figure line, which features hand-painted figures released in groups of three over the course of the year. Additional items include Eevee-centric bundles, a new kitchenware collection, and exclusive plush toys.
Pokémon Day Celebrations at Pokémon League Locations
Local Pokémon League locations will host noncompetitive Play! Pokémon events on Pokémon Day, providing fans of all skill levels the opportunity to play the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), video games, and Pokémon GO. These events will also include learn-to-play sessions for newcomers.
Attendees may receive a Pokémon Day 2025 League Celebration promo card featuring Sylveon, subject to availability. Additional giveaways include demo decks featuring Pikachu ex and Charizard ex, Pokémon TCG accessories, and promo cards displaying artwork from the Pokémon TCG Illustration Contest 2024.
The Illustration Contest promo cards will also be available as a gift with purchase from select retailers, including Pokémon Center, starting 21 February 2025, while stocks last.
Animated Offerings
Fans can celebrate Pokémon Day by catching up on animated series offerings:
- The first 11 episodes of Pokémon Horizons: Season 2—The Search for Laqua are now available on BBC iPlayer.
- The first season of Pokémon Horizons: The Series will be added to Netflix on Pokémon Day.
- Episodes of the stop-motion series Pokémon Concierge will be available on the official Pokémon YouTube channel for a limited time from 21 February to 9 March 2025. The series, produced with Netflix and dwarf studios, follows Pokémon Resort concierge Haru and her interactions with various Pokémon and Trainers.
