Kana Hanazawa, the Japanese voice actor for Echika Hieda, expressed her enthusiasm alongside the new content being unveiled:
I am very happy because I previously voiced Echika in the PV of the novel and didn’t think I would be able to continue in the anime as well.
The recording sessions have already finished, but as a fan of the work, I am looking forward to the broadcast to see how the electric investigation scene and Harold’s beauty will be portrayed!
Meanwhile, Kensho Ono, the voice of Harold W. Lucraft, shared his insights on the character:
In a world where humanoids called “Amicus” are fully integrated into society, Harold—the character I play—is an Amicus who behaves even more human-like than most humans. He pairs up with Echika, who tends to keep people at arm’s length, and I hope you’ll enjoy watching them gradually grow closer as they solve various cases together.
Director Takaharu Ozaki commented on the anime’s themes and adaptation approach:
Who hasn’t wished they could read someone’s mind? As Echika and Harold pursue cases through “Densaku,” they’ll confront those very desires, facing one another and themselves. Can humans and machines connect on a deeper, emotional level? For the anime adaptation, we decided to focus on the “black box” that holds the key to Harold’s mysterious way of thinking as an Amicus robot, starting the story from Volume 2 of the original series. From the cybernetic perspectives of the Your Forma devices to the intense Densaku sequences as they track down criminals, there’s plenty to look forward to. Stay tuned!
Original author Mareho Kikuishi also expressed gratitude for the adaptation:
I’m deeply grateful to see my work brought to life with such beautiful visuals, music, and top-notch performances. The anime begins from Volume 2 of the novels, offering even longtime readers a fresh look at how Echika and Harold’s relationship evolves in this vibrant world. I hope you’ll enjoy every moment.
