For those who have been watching Black Butler dubbed into English from the beginning, the voice actors involved have proven to be synonymous with their associated characters, and in my opinion would be challenging to replace with a fully new voice cast. Thankfully despite the transition from Funimation to CrunchyRoll, at least the main voice cast will be returning to their rolls.
When looking forward to their English dub of the latest chapter in the anime adaptation, Black Butler -Public School Arc-, CrunchyRoll have opted to go with the iconic pairing of J. Michael Tatum as Sebastian Michaelis and Brina Palencia as Ciel Phantomhive.
Amidst Britain’s elite, Weston College defies government oversight. So, when students vanish—including the son of Queen Victoria’s cousin—Her Majesty sends her Watchdog Ciel Phantomhive to investigate. With his loyal demon butler, Sebastian, Ciel must navigate treacherous school politics and infiltrate Weston’s model prefects, the P4, if he is to unravel the mysteries that shroud this institution.
Other returning voice cast members have yet to be confirmed, but expect to hear more as the series progresses and character do or do not have a role in the latest arc to be adapted into anime.
