In somewhat unsurprising news considering how much of a heavy-hitter the show appeared to be for the anime streaming service, AMC Networks has confirmed that they have acquired the streaming rights to Oshi no Ko Season 2, and will be making it an exclusive simulcast on the HIDIVE service as each episode airs in Japan starting in July.
Based on the seinen manga written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, Oshi no Ko’s first season turned heads for its portrayal of the Japanese idol industry, interesting character development, great visuals and a headbanger of an opening theme. HIDIVE has also confirmed that it has served as the service’s #1 series launch in its history.
