In attendance at Anime Boston 2023 this weekend, the team at HIDIVE held a panel event where they announced a few new anime acquisitions for their official streaming platform. These acquisitions are not necessarily for the ongoing Spring 2023, but also solidify some of their plans for the Summer 2023 anime season. The series listed below will be available exclusively via HIDIVE once they commence airing in Japan.
Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero
Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero is based on the popular manga series of the same name created by toufu, which launched in Houbunsha’s Comic Fuz and later in 2021 in English from Seven Seas Entertainment. Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Herois directed by Keisuke Inoue, written by Toshiya Ono, and produced by studios SILVER LINK.×BLADE.
After his embarrassing defeat at the hands of a brave hero, the Demon Lord is back and ready for revenge… but after ten years apart, the hero, Max, isn’t the dashing do-gooder the Demon Lord remembers. In fact, Max has turned into a shut-in slob with no interest in an epic rematch. Can the Demon Lord whip his former nemesis back into shape, or will he be defeated by the hero-turned-couch-potato once again and join him in his lazy life?
The Eminence in Shadow
Following the previous release of Season 1, HIDIVE will be offering the second season of The Eminence in Shadow exclusively via HIDIVE.
Feast of Amrita (Amrita no Kyouen)
An original anime horror film, Feast of Amrita will premiere on HIDIVE following its May 2023 theatrical release in Japan.
On their way home from high school, Tamahi and some classmates are shocked as they witness someone fall from the rooftop of nearby apartment. Panicked and confused, they rush to the building only to find it deserted. As Tamahi wonders about this, she has the uneasy feeling they are being watched. What is the strange presence around her… An original horror anime film and spin-off prequel to the 2019 release ARAGNE: Sign of Vermillion.
In addition to the three acquisitions announced above, HIDIVE has also confirmed that two series will be receiving English Dubcast releases in the near future:
Oshi no Ko
Dr. Goro is reborn as the son of the young starlet Ai Hoshino after her delusional stalker murders him. Now, he wants to help his new mother rise to the top, but what can a child do about the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry?
Farming Life in Another World
