Due on store shelves in July 2020

-

After airing in Japan through late-2014 and the first half of 2015, Fate/stay Night [Unlimited Blade Works] has been available on store shelves for years now as part of individual season collections. Bringing together the whole series as part of one collection, publisher Aniplex of America has this week confirmed plans to release a Complete Blu-ray Box Set for the show on 14 July 2020 – with a hefty SRP of $239.98 USD.

This collection consists of eight Blu-ray discs, comprising of all 26 uncut episodes from both seasons, plus the additional OVA episode “Sunny Day”. This collection comes with package illustrations by Takashi Takeuchi, and features a mini-booklet and on-disc textless OP/ED sequences and promotional videos, TV spots, and trailers.

The series on the TYPE-MOON visual novel Fate/stay Night and the Rin/Archer arc ‘Unlimited Blade Works’ which this series takes its name from. This follows on from the original TV anime which adapted the Saber-focused “Fate” route, and the more recent films which adapt the Sakura Matou-oriented “Heaven’s Feel” route. This adaptation features an original story by Kinoko Nasu, original character designs by Takashi Takeuchi, direction by Takahiro Miura, character designs by Tomonori Sudo, Hisayuki Tabata, and Atsushi Ikariya; and music by Hideyuki Fukasawa. Animation, on the other hand, comes from ufotable, veterans when it comes to anime adaptations in the Fate series.

The Japanese cast includes Noriaki Sugiyama (Naruto Shippuden, Katsugeki TOUKEN RANBU) as Shirou Emiya, Kana Ueda (Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia, Black Clover) as Rin Tohsaka, Ayako Kawasumi (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Samurai Champloo) as Saber, Junichi Suwabe (Sword Art Online Alicization, Yuri!! On ICE) as Archer, and Joji Nakata (Hellsing Ultimate, PERSONA5 the Animation), as Kirei Kotomine.

The English dub cast stars Bryce Papenbrook (Sword Art Online, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba), Mela Lee (Fate/Zero, DURARARA!!), Kaiji Tang (KILL la KILL, anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day), Kari Wahlgren (Fate/Zero, DURARARA!!), and Crispin Freeman (God Eater, DURARARA!!) with veteran English Voice Director and ADR Script Writer, Tony Oliver (Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia, Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel]).
