Not coming as too big a surprise given their previous work with the series, Sentai Filmworks have announced that they now hold the North American rights to the anime Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA 2wei Herz! This announcement follows previous work on Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya and Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei! – all of which have been animated by Silver Link and serves as a spin-off title to Type-Moon’s Fate series.
Based on the original manga by Hiroshi Hiroyama, this third season reunites previous characters for another tale. Illyasviel von Einzbern’s life has become ridiculously complicated since the Kaleidostick Ruby convinced her to become a magical girl and join the quest for collecting the seven Class Cards. Since then Illya’s gained a new friend and partner in the form of Miyu Edelfelt and even encountered her own magical twin! One would think she deserves a little time off, but a trip to the beach quickly turns into a new quest and Illya instead finds herself in the middle of a magical feud!
Having begun airing in Japan last month, Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA 2wei Herz! is set to be available first through digital video-on-demand services such as Anime Network. It is also set for a home video release at a later date.
In Australia, Hanabee Entertainment have already begun simulcasting the series – which can be viewed via the AnimeLab video-on-demand service.
