While they have surprisingly bypassed releasing a Standard Edition set for Season 3, Nippon Ichi Software America have today confirmed they will be publishing a Standard Edition (DVD+Blu-ray Combo) set for Natsume’s Bok of Friend’s Season 4 beginning May 5th 2015. This season (Also known as Natsume Yūjin-chō Shi in Japan) features thirteen additional episodes which explore the friendships between protagonist Natsume and his human / yokai friends.
While lacking the usual artbook / artbox combo found with most NIS America Premium Editions, this Standard Edition set does come with a bonus story guide leaflet. The collection itself will set you back $59.99.
Storyline
Still in possession of his grandmother’s Book of Friends, Natsume spends his days returning the names of yokai to their rightful owners. He has been learning how to deal with the yokai and humans that surround his life, but the time has come for him to deal with something even more difficult—his own past, and future.
