Michelle from Funimation Entertainment has announced via the publisher’s official blog that they will be commissioning an English dub for Free -Eternal Summer-, and will be confirming the voice cast “very soon”. Interestingly enough, this may mean that the second season of Free! will be released before the first.
This is because Crunchyroll, most renown for being a major anime (and other media) video-on-demand service, apparently holds home video rights to the series. Funimation claim that they have approached Crunchyroll about the possibility of doing a dub/publishing collaboration, however have yet to hear back from them.
Funimation ask that fans stay tuned for future developments on this matter.
