Not stopping with their film release announcements, Aniplex of America have confirmed that they will be releasing anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day: The Movie through three separate collections from July 15th, 2014. This movie is an expansion upon the original TV series published by NIS America back in 2012 and walked away with my North American Anime Release of the Year 2011 award.

In Anohana -The Flower We Saw That Day The Movie-, fans can once again join the members of the Super Peace Busters as they gather to remember their dear friend Menma one year after their emotional reunion. The story incorporates highlights from the TV series as well as demonstrating Jinta and the rest of the group slowly coming to terms with their past and looking toward their futures together.

The main release pictured above will be the DVD / Blu-ray Collector’s Edition which includes a compilation music CD, memorial postcard set, double-sided Menma poster, deluxe booklet, a range of on-disc extra content and special box design illustrated by Masayoshi Tanaka. This is set to be significantly pricier than other collections at SRP $79.98. It can be purchased through Rightstuf.com HERE. A standard edition Blu-ray set will also be available to purchase for $49.98 HERE and on DVD for $39.98 HERE. Pre-orders will be opened shortly.

About anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day: The Movie

Are your “friends” from back then, still your “friends” now? This is a story of one summer miracle. Due to a tragic accident during their childhood that took the life of one of their friends, 5 friends grew apart from one another. One summer day “Menma,” their friend who passed away, appears before them. She tells them that she must have a wish granted in order to pass on to the afterlife. But, she cannot remember what that wish is. The friends meet once more to figure out how to help “Menma.” Time that stood still begins to slowly move once more…Why did “Menma” come back?
