During Supanova Brisbane 2013, Australian anime publisher Hanabee Entertainment will be announcing three new anime acquisitions for release during 2014 through a series of surprise screenings. While we still have two to come yet, the publisher have confirmed that they will be releasing BTOOOM! in Australia from the 8th February 2014 on both DVD and Blu-ray.
Based on the popular manga series under the same name, the anime adaptation features a script by Yousuke Kuroda and animation by Madhouse Studios. This release is set to include all 12 episodes with dual (English and Japanese audio), with the DVD edition setting you back $59.99 and the Blu-ray edition costing five dollars more.
Be careful what you wish for.
Ryouta Sakamoto has suddenly been transferred in to a deadly high stakes game. A game he is all too familiar with. Left on a mysterious island with a set of provisions, a bag of bombs and a strange crystal embedded into his left hand – this is the world of Btooom realized.
Beautifully replicated, this game of Btooom is an all out dog eat dog world, where to escape you will need to kill seven others before they kill you. But there’s a difference between a game and reality. When a death is a death and there are no second lives, Ryouta is about to learn the value of a life.
