Following their two-part release of the Tiger & Bunny TV anime series earlier this year which walked away with top marks in my June 2013 review, Australian anime publisher Siren Visual have opened pre-orders for Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning. To be available on both DVD and Blu-ray at $34.95 / $39.95 respectively, The Beginning is a feature film featuring the same heroes and covers an event that slots in between Episodes 2 and 3. This release will be available with dual-audio, featuring both the original Japanese dub and an all new English dub.

Set in Sternbild City, home to a special group of people known as NEXT. Among them are stars of the hit reality TV show called “Hero TV”, where they serve to protect the public as Superheroes who each bare the names of their corporate sponsors. Their mission is to accomplish heroic acts in order to accumulate points so they can be crowned “King Of Heroes!”. The veteran hero, Wild Tiger, likes to work alone, but he’s forced to pair up with a new hotshot, Barnaby. Getting the job done becomes an uphill battle when their personalities clash!
Join the heroes in an all-new caper which slots neatly between episodes two and three of the TV series while introducing a new adventure (and a new villain) for Sternbild’s heroes to get to grips with – something which proves to be incredibly difficult thanks to the particular “NEXT” power of this slippery antagonist. This film expands the background details of all the Heroes, making the movie an excellent adition to the Tiger & Bunny phenomena!
