Nippon Ichi Software America, a North American publisher of games and anime to the respective markets have recently announced that their upcoming anime release of Occult Academy – which is due for release on the 8th May 2012 is now available for pre-order as a (currently) Premium Edition exclusive release.
Setting you back $51.99 (From a base price of $64.99), this set will include the entire 13 episode series over two Blu-ray discs. BUT as this is their usual Premium Edition release, you are also provided with a premium hardcover slipcase, a full colour 36-page hardcover artbook featuring artwork, draft designs and encyclopedia for the series. On-disc content includes four bonus short episodes, a Love Machine clip and clean opening and ending sequences.
BUT they are also providing another bonus goodie while stocks last – a Waldstein Academy 1999 Student Planner – a 12 page softcover planner featuring character sketches from the anime series and outlines of important dates during the storyline.
In the year 2012, the world is a wasteland invaded by aliens. Time travelers like Fumiaki are sent back to the year 1999 in order to destroy the “Nostradamus Key” to prevent the apocalypse. In 1999, Maya, the daughter of the former principal of Waldstein Academy (AKA Occult Academy), returns to the academy to replace her father. Despising her father’s obsession with the occult, Maya is hell-bent on running the school into the ground out of spite. Her plan is interrupted when she meets Fumiaki and learns of the forthcoming destruction of the world. They form a pact to look for the key.
