It is slightly disappointing to hear that a series that has not been licensed for English distribution is to recieve a second season knowing that by now there are reduced chances of ever seeing it over here, however the Adventure Fantasy anime series Dog Days was announced to be recieving a second season at the Dog Days Special Promotion -Flonya Festival 2011- in Tokyo. The following is a blurb of the series as sourced from AnimeNewsNetwork:
In the land of Fronaldo, the Republic of Biscotti has been aggressively attacked by the Lion Kingdom of Galette. Facing potential defeat, Princess Millhiore summons a hero who can save the country. What she gets is Izumi Shinku, a middle-school boy from Japan. Awaiting him in Fronaldo is the task of becoming hero enough to defeat his enemies while learning the peculiar rules of battle in this strange new world.
