New Anime/Manga Titles for May 2011 in Australia 2Needless – Part 1 *
All of the Earth’s cities became targets of bombings and were bathed in frightful red flames. Half a century has passed since then. The contaminated former epicenter is still isolated from the city of Tokyo creating a hole in the middle of Japan commonly known as the Black Spot. As time passed, people began to inhabit this wasteland. They were deemed unnecessary by those who lived in cities. Among these people were the ones who could command strange abilities – fire, wind, gravity… they had the ability to control these supernatural powers. Thus, those who possessed Fragments were regarded as….THE NEEDLESS!

New Anime/Manga Titles for May 2011 in Australia 3When They Cry – Part 2 *
On a hot summer day in 1983, a transfer student named Maebara Keiichi comes to a peaceful rural village in Hinamizawa. There he befriends his classmates Rena, Mion, Rika, and Satoko. Just as Keiichi is beginning to assimilate into simple rural life, he stumbles upon the dark history of Hinamizawa – every year for the past four years, one person has been murdered and another has gone missing on the day of the Watanagashi Festival. When They Cry is an unnerving story of rural folklore and small-town psychosis steeped in brutal violence and horrific sadism. Cute and funny one minute, sinister and twisted the next, When they Cry broods with a unique psychological malaise.
